| The Institution Y.D.V.D. Arts and Commerce College, Teosa, District
Amravati began in 1971 providing higher education in Arts and Commerce
discipline. Later 10+2 pattern was also adopted in at 1975-76 Now
there are approximately 1049 students enrolled in the Institution
at Junior College and Undergraduate Level. This year Economics is
started for Post Graduate Level. There are also career oriented programmes
such as Financial Management and Auditing and communication skill
in English from the approval and financial assistance from U.G.C.

| In spite of the rural location the Institution has earned reputation
of being one of the premier institutions providing 10+2 & higher
education to the students from rural and backward class background.
The institution occupies a space of 1 Hector 13 Arc besides the four
lane National High Way no.6 running from Bombay to Calcutta in the
heart of Teosa the location provides a convenient approach for the
nearby stake holders to the institution the institution is affiliated
to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati. The institution
is a recognized 2F-12B institution receiving financial grant under
plan and non-plan schemes the playgrounds of volley ball, kabaddi,
kho-kho and Basket Ball are well prepared. There are indoor and outdoor
games and sports arranged and practice in the institution well-furnished
classrooms with proper ventilations. |
| Laboratories such as computer, Home Economics, Language are well
equipped for practical and demonstration with decent equipments. A
library well equipped with reference, text books to meet the need
of the readers. A bookbank and reprographic facility with lot of study
materials. A women Hostel for enrolled girl students. Other facilities
such as coin box, Redressed Cell, Right of Information Cell, A Dress
Code Fresh Drinking Water, study room, common room, cycle stand fulfill
the other necessities of the student. A Health Center with well equipped
Gymkhana for exercise, scholarships and incentives marks as per Government
and University rule. The other departments such as Extra Curricular
Activities, National Service Scheme provides scope and opportunity
for students participation in cultural activities. Shramadan, Awareness
Programes through Yuvak Mohatsav, Annual Gathering Regular and Camp
Activities. As extension Activity committee to arrange programes for
social welfare a Parent Teachers Association & Alumni meets once
a session. |
| The teaching departments are manned by competent staff and are provided
with modern, well equipped facility for achieving excellence in education.
The administrative section is fully computerized for administration,
maintenance and retrieval of records. The institution is hooked by
internet connected with broadband for staff and students. |
| The institution has been accredited with C+ level status by NAAC
in 16 Sept. 2004 and is now preparing for Re-Accreditation. The institution
for sustaining quality in higher education in Post NAAC era an Internal
Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is constituted. It is functioning as
per the instructions and guidelines from NAAC, Banglore. Every year
Annual Quality. Assurance Report (AQAR) is submitted staling the fulfillments
of the previous year and parameters for next year. |
